Happy New Year All! It's a while since we last posted on
here, lots going on as usual. 2012 seemed to fly by here at WYPW, and by the
looks of things 2013 is likely to do the same. We've got lots of exciting
things coming up over the next year, but we’ll focus on the next few months to
start off with!
Our next exhibition is the fantastic 'Totes Amaze' - looking
at the rise of the Tote bag from the eco friendly shopping option to being a
popular format of creative self expression and contemporary fashion statement. The
exhibition aims to showcase the most creative, inventive and striking examples
of the tote from the last 10 years. The featured Totes will illustrate the
wealth of international creative talent working in this field today who are
using Tote Bags as a vehicle to carry their creative output.
After the success of our first
Introduction to Letterpress
course, and our Letterpress Christmas Cards workshop, we have also scheduled 3
more for the coming year. In a world full of ipads and computers, it’s such a
welcome change to see how wood and metal type can be used to print all manner
of things!
We’ll finish off with some pics from some of the fantastic
workshops we’ve run in the last few months, and here’s to lots more printmaking
in 2013!
